Find AUPAIR

Engage your kids to find the right au pair

There is a fine line between finding an au pair and finding the right au pair. Agencies will try their best to match your family profile with suitable au pairs. At the end of the day, it is your final choice - or even your children's preferences that will decide who will be a good fit for your family.

You could potentially make this decision yourself, but will your children trust your judgment? Surely, they'd love to be involved in finding their next "babysitter/big sister/play mate"!

Make this process into an exciting "find" for every family member. Sit down and talk about what makes your family special and what your needs are?

An au pair is primarily there to take care of your children. How they take care of your children will be the most important factor in whether the match is a success. Maybe your youngest daughter would be thrilled to be looked after by a music loving au pair or your oldest son would find it super cool with an au pair who's both great in math and football! Let your children list criteria for their dream au pair. Let them be involved during your interviews, where they can get a first impression and the opportunity to ask questions that really matter to them. This may sound like this:

"Can you cook the same chicken nuggets as mum makes?"

I've got lots of Barbies, will you play with me when you come and join us?

What football team do you support?

The search for the best au pair will be led by you, but the very best decision will be the one that is made by both you and your children. Involving the children will make them look forward to the new au pairs arrival!
